Christer Bothén, the 84-year-old Swedish Free jazz musician and close musical compatriot of Don Cherry, is having a late period renaissance. His 1984 solo LP Trancedance was reissued last year to great acclaim and this year sees the release of two new albums - Traces by his group Cosmic Ear and L’Invisible for his trio. David Mittleman interviewed Christer Bothén for a three-hour special devoted to his unique vision of Scandinavian Free Jazz.
