Special Program: Bayeté on Iapetus: Todd Cochran Interview
Jazz keyboardist, composer and arranger Todd Cochran (aka Bayeté) was born and raised in San Francisco’s blossoming bohemia of the 1950s and 1960s. He began playing professionally as a teenager, going on to perform with many notable musicians such as Bobby Hutcherson, Julian Priester, Mtume, Hadley Caliman, Peter Gabriel and more. Cochran’s discussion of his extensive music career and forthcoming reissue of Caliman’s Iapetus is the centerpiece of a three-hour special devoted to his otherworldly, Afro-Futuristic music.
