Special Program: The Music of Brian Jones with co-host Pete Tomlinson
Today is the 52nd anniversary of the passing of Brian Jones, the founder of The Rolling Stones. He was a troubled man but a brilliant musician and Rock’s first great multi-instrumentalist. He played over two dozen instruments and added colors and textures and sounds that were rarely, if ever, heard on popular music records. He provided the hooks to many Stones recordings which drew the listener in. He was also a pioneer of "world music" long before we even had that term, with his championing of the musicians of Morocco who he would record in 1968. He was also a fashionista, with his trademark blonde hair and many a band had to have a a Brian look-alike in it. His resplendent wardrobe ranged from suit, vest and tie to women's clothing in vivid colors. Bob and special guest co-host Pete Tomlinson will celebrate the many sounds of Brian Jones.
