Girls Give Me Butterflies Newsletter! Life Updates
Hello friends!
This is my first newsletter on the new platform I signed up for-- (Please forgive me if you notice any weird format errors or broken functions!) Apologies for bombarding you with boring emails today. You're probably ready for an actual book update, right?
I'm still figuring out how to strike the right balance between sharing updates about the book itself and sharing life updates about me, because both are so intertwined. At risk of oversharing, I'll give you the super condensed version: my physical and mental health have been through the ringer this year, being a person is so hard, and HOW is it November already?!?
All that to say: I've experienced significant delays with my work on the book (I know!!!). But I can feel an upswing coming, as I've been growing stronger and developing healthier habits thanks to physical therapy, therapy-therapy, and a reminder of why I started making this ambitious book in the first place.
I'm excited to share my story with everyone. I hope it reaches the hearts of queer children and queer adults alike, I hope it resonates with families and teachers and therapists, I hope people think it's a little bit beautiful, or funny, or colorful, or lovely... I have to remind myself to hold onto those positive thoughts when I start to feel scared I'm going to fail, or daunted by the work ahead of me. This newsletter is proof enough there are people out there excited (or at least mildly curious!) about my book, and I can't wait to bring it to life for you all.
Coming up next time: I should have some exciting updates for you about my test-prints!
As always, thanks for reading. Stay safe everyone <3
