Mix Annotations - Different Fuels for Different Engines

Hi Friends!

There are two houses in my neighbourhood with giant twelve-foot skeletons in their front yard.

One of the skeletons was recently decapitated and dismembered for a few days because of a wicked windstorm that knocked a big branch down onto its head and arm. It was really noticeable because this house also has a couple of smaller, more life/human-sized skeletons in the yard that look up at to giant skeleton like how kids look up to their parent when they want uppies. The house is also decorated with lots of skulls and chains and I think a bunch of old wooden doorknobs loose in the dirt under their fence and front hedge. The other day I finally saw someone who lives there! They were wheeling their garbage bins down their alley, wearing an old “Ford for Mayor” t-shirt.

The other house is much less skull-focused. Back in July the Danforth East Community Association organized a neighbourhood-wide Yard Sale Day, and this house was selling a box set of Alfred Hitchcock VHS tapes, including (in alphabetical order): Alfred Hitchcock Present, The Birds, Family Plot, Frenzy, The Man Who Knew Too Much, Marnie, Psycho, Rope, Saboteur, Shadow of a Doubt, Topaz, Torn Curtain, The Trouble with Harry, and Vertigo. I didn’t buy it because I walked past on my way home from grocery shopping and didn’t want to carry more stuff, but I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since then. I even imagine knocking on their door to see if they still have it for sale. The twelve-foot skeleton is the only skeleton in their front yard, and it’s holding a large Pride flag in its bony hands.

So it just goes to show you, you never know.
