Did You Know?
While it is generally agreed that May is National Strawberry Month, it's not entirely clear who designated this, or when.
Most national food months tend to be sponsored by various produce or other food-related companies, but in this case there doesn't seem to be a consensus on the origin. However, one thing that is generally agreed upon is that the reason May is known for strawberries is because it's the beginning of strawberry season in many places in the northern hemisphere!

New: Decaf Jasmine Green!
Decaf Jasmine Green is a hyson-style Chinese green tea which has been decaffeinated through a pressurized CO2 process which is gentler on the leaves than chemical leaching and doesn't leave off-flavors in the tea. It's been scented naturally with real jasmine flowers—not extract—for a full-flavored cup that's excellent hot or iced.
If you enjoy our regular Jasmine Green with Flowers but are trying to cut down on caffeine, this is a great option!

With the lives and civil rights of marginalized peoples currently in danger and more and more at risk here and around the world, it can be hard to find meaning in the things we do in our day-to-day lives. Individually, we cannot stop massacres, overturn bigoted laws, make seditionists face real consequences, preserve public health, or save people from mass layoffs. The various people responsible for these things know that, and they are pleased when we feel like that means we can do nothing. They want us to feel like we can do nothing; the more helpless we feel now, the less likely it is that we will stand up later.
I am not asking for us to change the world single-handedly. But I think it's important to try to believe that even if we do something small, that it still matters somehow. Because if nothing else, it helps prove to us that those who want us to give up haven't won yet.
To that end, here are some links to (free!) actions you can take, should you choose to. If you do, send me a screenshot and I'll send you a coupon code for $5 off your next Discover Teas order. (I won't share it but please block out any details you're not comfortable with)
- A list of student protest groups with links to their bail funds and information about their current status
- Petition against the North Carolina bill banning masks for public health (the bill has currently been suspended but it will come up again)
- Petition to reject federal legislation to shut down non-profit organizations without due process, a law that will undoubtedly be used against more organizations than just the ones currently listed
If you are able to and would like to donate financially, here are some options as well. As with the previous option, you can then send me a screenshot and I'll send you a coupon code for your next Discover Teas order—either $5 or 15% of your donation, whichever is higher. Again, please block out any sensitive details, especially card numbers!
There is NO minimum donation requirement for the coupon code.

These actions are cumulative; for example, if you send 2 screenshots, you will receive a coupon code for $10 or (if one of them is a donation) 15% of your donation, whichever is higher.
Most of all, if nothing else, please remember that waking up tomorrow with the fury of love and the courage of hope in your heart is important, too.
