Fennel and anise have been used for centuries as natural carminatives, which have been said to help with relieving gastric discomfort due to excess gas, and also for relieving mucous buildup after eating.

While that makes them prime ingredients for blends like our DigesTea, you can also achieve these same benefits by chewing and eating them, as with mukhwas, the Indian postprandial snack which often includes fennel and/or anise. I blended a mix of both to keep by my place at the table as a crunchy palate cleanser that also helps me digest.
As another bonus, this also often results in sweeter breath!

Previously featured as a pre-order special, Snow Chrysanthemum has entered the Discover Teas ranks as a premium caffeine-free option. Smaller and more concentrated than other chrysanthemum teas, snow chrysanthemum is also bolder than its counterparts, with a rich natural sweetness that brews a dark amber in the cup and provides a refreshing boost whether brewed hot or iced.

It is excellent on its own, but also blends well with other teas and herbs! I like it with Mo-Rockin' Mint, and I think it would also be fun to try it with Strawberry Green, Peach Apricot Black, or a pinch of ginger—or…maybe even all three? Hey, that might be a good idea for a Weekly Test Kitchen blend!
