Center for Digital Play researchers Pawel Grabarczyk and Hanna Wirman embark on the third year of Nordic Alliance for Sustainability in Gaming. The project will begin with a network seminar held at ITU on the 6th and 7th of November, 2023.
The Nordic Alliance for Sustainability in Gaming (NASG) is an inter-university network whose aim is to promote environmental and cultural sustainability in games education and the videogame industry.
The main goals of the network are to 1) Raise awareness about issues relating to environmental and cultural sustainability in gaming, 2) Promote more sustainable practices in videogame production, regulation, consumption, and games education, 3) Cooperate with the game industry and policy-makers in the Nordic region on issues relating to sustainability, and 4) Use games as a focal point for reflection on broader issues relating to sustainability.
An earlier ITU press release introduced the jam organised at ITU in June 2023.
