Happy new year from Digital Commons Co-operative. We’re starting January a little more gently after a busy end to 2025, and looking ahead to what we’ll be building together this year.

Right now, we’re nearing the end of recruitment for a Full Stack Developer. We’re looking for a developer to join our team to work on tools that support housing justice, land transparency, and shared digital infrastructure. The deadline to apply is 10am UK time this Thursday, 15 January.

This role will involve contributing to projects like Land Explorer, Data for Housing Justice, and the Co-operative World Map, as well as helping shape how we use LLMs and other emerging tools in ways that are accountable to movements and communities. We’re a small team working in a non-hierarchical way, with a high degree of autonomy and a strong commitment to co-operative principles.

Role details:

• Fully remote (UK-based)

• Around 3 days / 21 hours per week

• £26.10 per hour

• Employed role (not freelance)

We’re especially keen to hear from developers who care about the social impact of their work and want to build technology as shared infrastructure rather than private platforms.
