The Lost Daughter and Don't Look Up
Apologies for not getting this dispatch out sooner. My sinuses started acting up after coming back to Chicago so I spent the bulk of last week sleeping in bed and not doing much of anything else. I was finally back to 100% by Saturday and have spent this past week trying to get the rest of the 2021 movies in. I have a few films remaining and will end up running The Solzy Awards for 2021 on December 23.
After having a few days to get lost in New York, it was back to business for The Lost Daughter and Don’t Look Up. If you saw my photo in front of The Plaza Hotel, I’m pleased to report that they liked my post on Instagram.
One quick note about Friday night: I do not recommend walking up 5th Avenue over the weekend. Sidewalks were PACKED. I was coming back from Shabbas dinner (5th Ave and E 42nd Street) and it looked like a standstill in front of Saks 5th Avenue. I did the only thing I could do and that was take a left towards 6th Avenue along W 49th Street. Folks, let me tell you: this was a terrible beyond terrible idea. What I didn’t know is that I unintentionally decided to pass by Rockefeller Center days after the tree was installed. Mind you, I just trying to get back to the hotel on Central Park South. I had zero intentions to walk by the tree. I walked through the crowd as fast as I possibly could!
