Post and Run But This Needed To Be Said
What a week. I had local film fest obligations including the Devotion red carpet (interviews forthcoming with JD Dillard and Jonathan Majors) and a festival screening of She Said. Aside from that, the antisemitism right now is terrible. It’s great to see so many celebrities speaking out but it does worry me if their allyship is legit or just performative. Why is it that they waited for Kanye or a banner hanging in Los Angeles to say something? I had a lot to say about this in a piece I wrote this morning. I am scared and as I wrote in my piece, centuries of Jewish history have told us to have a bag packed at all times.
If you’ve been following me on social media this week, I’m dealing with a stalker as a result of a roundtable interview that I ran last Thursday. It’s not so much because of anything I’ve said in particular. It’s that they think that I have the ability to give their contact information to the actress. Said actress does not follow me on social media and even if they did, the way this person called my parents over ten times even after being told that I don’t live there anymore just yells unhinged stalker and harassment. They even emailed an address that I don’t even use for anything other than when I need to register for a free trial and don’t want the emails going to my man address.
