No Kings. No Dictators. No Exceptions.
Watching U.S. democracy crumble as GOP stands silent and power abuses mount.

He said it. He actually said it. In America, nonetheless. A country founded on rejecting the British crown and taxation without representation.
“A lot of people are saying maybe we’d like a dictator. I don’t like a dictator. I’m not a dictator. I’m a man with common sense and a very smart person.”
He could have stopped after the first sentence. For a person who claims not to like dictators, he sure is close to Putin. We already know how he admires Hitler but how this isn’t a redline for every single American is beyond me. Comments like this should trigger impeachment proceedings, not that his first two impeachments resulted in convictions.
We have been watching daily for well over half a year as American democracy is torn to shreds. The sad part? The Republican Party is just letting him and the Project 2025 writers rewrite America in their own white nationalist vision. Where are all the Republicans who once campaigned on reading the Constitution? Where are all the Republicans that have shouted about socialism? Newsflash: they’re doing absolutely nothing.
They are abdicating their own authority. With everything that’s been happening, you’d be forgiven for not knowing that he wants to rename the Department of Defense to the Department of War through a cabinet vote. The War Department was dissolved through the National Security Act in 1947, when the Department of Defense was formed through the merger of American armed services. Only Congress can change the name!
It was just reported this week that the U.S. government now owns 10% of Intel. This is socialism at work, for anyone who doesn’t actually know the definition. While the GOP has campaigned against socialism and cheered him on in tearing down democracy, this is what gets them to speak out?!? The hypocrisy is staggering.
It’s bad enough that he’s turning the National Guard into his own private police force. Where are the Republicans to rise up against him?
And now, he’s illegally firing members of the Federal Reserve Board, an act that he is not legally allowed to take. Presidents can appoint, but they cannot fire the people who make up the board. That’s the whole point of independent boards. We’ve already seen how he’s forced commission board members in every which direction to resign so that he can rewrite American bureaucracy in his own image. Nobody is stopping him because the Republicans in Congress have lost their spine and thanks to Mitch McConnell, the conservatives have rewritten the Court system in their favor. But still, the law is the law and you cannot change this without congressional action.
Every day brings a new assault, each one pushing us closer to a fascist state—and history will not forgive us if we sit by and let it happen.
