March for Israel: An Unforgettable Experience
I have a whole lot to say about having the opportunity to attend the March for Israel in Washington, DC on November 14.
The March for Israel came together rather weekly in eight days. The quickness in organizing meant having to make very last-minute plans. Initially, I was set to attend two press screenings on Monday night and Tuesday afternoon, respectively. In the end, I decided it was more important to be in DC for the March, which let’s be honest here—it was more of a rally. Anyway, going by plane was out of the question since Southwest flights were too expensive. My shul organized a bus trip and so I ended up going roundtrip by bus. It was a very long bus ride but it was worth it to be among the announced 290,000 in attendance. I assume the number includes members of the Detroit community that were left along the tarmac after their bus drivers did not pick them up.
