Los Angeles is a Blast

Let there be no mistake that The Power of the Dog is an awards contender and Netflix sure knows it.

This weekend marked the first time that I have seen my Critics Choice Association colleagues since either the Critics Choice Awards or the Sundance Film Festival in 2020. Well, aside from the Zoom hospitality rooms for various interviews or press conferences. And then there was the Zoom winner’s backstage press room during this year’s CCAs. Suffice it to say that, it was so exciting to finally see film friends in person for the first time in nearly two years!

Covid protocols are on the highest alert this weekend. It isn’t enough that we had to be vaccinated by Netflix even sent us at-home test kits to take before going to the airport. Upon checking in at the hotel, we were handed another test kit, which I used in order to make sure I was still negative in the 48 hours leading up to the Belfast events starting on Monday night.
