I Went Down The Geni Rabbit Hole
After watching Fioretta last night, I went down the Geni rabbit hole. Genealogy can be rather addicting. If you go down the rabbit hole, it could be anywhere from a few hours to weeks and months at a time. It’s far from healthy! For instance, I knew that my 2nd great-grandmother’s brother, Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky was a famous rabbi—one of the best known Talmudic scholars of his day.
It wasn’t until formally merging profiles on Geni today that I did a few searches. One, I found out that I’m directly related to the Schoenberg family that is covered in the documentary—Randy is my 14th cousin thrice removed. I went further than that because that’s what the rabbit hole can do. Through Geni, I can trace my ancestry all the way back
