I’m back in Los Angeles for the Critics Choice Awards and it just so happened that I found myself eating at The Milky Way, a restaurant once owned by Steven Spielberg’s mother. Not only this but January 12 also marked what would have been her birthday,

It’s funny how this happened. I had given some thought to eating at Shalom Grill again but I don’t want to be fleishig every day in Los Angeles. There was something about the restaurant that piqued my interest. The fact that it was dairy was also a +1. I looked into the restaurant by way of Google and as soon as I saw where it was founded by Leah Adler, I knew I had to eat there. Plus, I was wearing my 40th anniversary Raiders of the Lost Ark shirt—how could I not?!? The lasagna and cheesecake were both delicious. In fact, everyone received a complimentary cheesecake in honor of Leah’s birthday. The waiter complimented my shirt and said I had to take a photo with the poster in the hallway. I may have overdone the photos with the posters but this is Steven Spielberg that we’re talking about. Without Jurassic Park, I’m not sitting in Los Angeles right now.
