A Quick Recap of the Week
You may ask how did this tradition get started? I’ll tell you…I don’t know. I’m spending my December 24th watching my annual viewing of Fiddler on the Roof. Sometimes I watch on the 24th. Other times, it’ll be December 25th. With the way the calendar falls this year, everything is either before Shabbas or after Shabbas. My plan for tomorrow night is Uncut Gems and maybe Shiva Baby. We’ll see.
The Omicron variant continues to disrupt awards season. Earlier this week, the Critics Choice Association announced that the show would go on. Cut to a few days later and leadership made the right decision to postpone the awards show until late February or sometime in March. Hopefully, things will have calmed down by then. In the meantime, the Sundance Film Festival announced that theatrical capacity will be reduced and requiring all attendees to have a Covid-19 booster shot. I still think that they’ll pivot to virtual but it might depend on what happens with cases. Until that happens, I am fully intending to attend in person.
Here’s a quick recap of everything I wrote this week:
