Departmental Action Team Project: 2022 Newsletter, Issue 1
Hello Departmental Action Team supporters! We hope this very occasional newsletter finds you well.
Announcements
We need your help publicizing our pilot student DELTA survey! We are hoping for 2000 participants this fall. The survey helps departments characterize their culture and what students desire for change, and is a companion to our faculty DELTA survey. Please invite your undergraduate classes and fellow instructors to participate – for participating students, we will raffle off five $100 gift cards! Reply to this email with your interest, and we will send you the invitation materials.
We received an NSF grant to host a workshop on departmental change in two year colleges with our colleague, Tara Jo Holmberg! Stay tuned for participation information in our next missive.

DATs in Real Life
A number of DATs at CU and CSU are continuing to work together. New DATs have been started or are in the works in 18 locations around N. America!
A new NSF-funded collaboration has begun to apply the DAT model to science and engineering departments at U. Illinois, Chicago, with the aim of identifying and reducing barriers to student inclusion and success.
The Computer Science DAT at U. Colorado Boulder improved the design of a student study space and developed an inclusive ambassador program using student input, in 2021.

Facilitator Corner
We have found an informal “Facilitator Network” to be a valued source of support. The network we operate at CU meets online monthly and follows a community of practice model.
Reminder, our Digital Toolkit provides 100+ free resources for facilitators: slides, handouts, and how-to guides!
