New E-Book: Flashes of Fright: Volume V
I’m very pleased to announce that the fifth instalment in the Flashes of Fright series is now out! Flashes of Fright: Volume V contains thirteen 1,000-word horror stories, just like the other e-books in the series.
What do you gain from reading this e-book? You get to dive into thirteen horror stories that are over in no time at all. They may be short, but they can still have an impact and leave you feeling unsettled.

1,000-Word Horror Stories
If you haven’t read any Flashes of Fright e-books yet, consider downloading them. Most of the stories are standalone and can therefore be read in any order. However, there’s a series of three ‘Grobble’ stories in the first three e-books that should be read in order. There’s also ‘The Axe Murderer’ and ‘The Axe Murderer: Part 2’ (both in Flashes of Fright: Volume IV) that should be read in order too.
All the stories in Flashes of Fright: Volume V are standalone. Feel free to read them in whatever order you like. If you enjoy 1,000-word horror stories, download some more Flashes of Fright e-books and see what you make of them. Here are the links:
The Fifth Instalment
So what are the stories in Flashes of Fright: Volume V about? To give you an idea of what’s in store, there are stories about …
A kid who eats chocolate given to her by a friend (with disastrous consequences of course)
A family of Ice Age humans taking over a cave that isn’t rightfully theirs
A young man whose ingenious idea to scare off an intruder backfires
As usual, there’s plenty of death, suffering and all-round misery.

Some of the stories in Flashes of Fright: Volume V are inspired by two-sentence horror stories from my Terror in Brief e-books. My blog post How to Read Two-Sentence Horror Stories gives you some useful tips so you can appreciate these very short tales of terror more.
Any More Instalments?
There will be a sixth Flashes of Fright e-book, but it probably won’t be out until next year. I love writing with restrictions and thoroughly enjoy the challenge of putting together a horror story in 1,000 words (even though it can be tricky at times).
That’s It for Now
Thanks for reading! If short horror stories are your thing, you should enjoy Flashes of Fright: Volume V and the other e-books in the series too.
