New E-Book: Flashes of Fright: Volume IV
Great news! There’s a new D. T. Adams e-book out. Flashes of Fright: Volume IV is now available to download. Like the other instalments in the Flashes of Fright series, it consists of 13 horror stories, each 1,000 words long.

Each of the first three instalments ends with a ‘Grobble’ story. This fourth instalment doesn’t have a ‘Grobble’ story, simply because I didn’t think a fourth story would add anything substantial to the mini series.
The fourth Flashes of Fright e-book does include a story and a sequel, which is a first for the series. They’re about an axe murderer who is keen to slice up a certain woman. You’ll have to download Flashes of Fright: Volume IV to find out who he wants to butcher and if he manages to be successful.
Perhaps my favourite story in Flashes of Fright: Volume IV is ‘Little Bo Weep’, in which the nursery rhyme shepherdess goes through a harrowing experience involving a beauty contest for sheep of all things. This is inspired by the two-sentence horror story ‘Missing Sheep’ (#127, Terror in Brief: Volume V).

There will be a fifth Flashes of Fright instalment at some point. I enjoy writing 1,000-word horror stories because the word limit is long enough to develop a story and short enough that I have to be succinct and focus on what’s necessary. Plus, the limit often means that tension builds and the horror element is revealed right at the end.

Enjoy reading Flashes of Fright: Volume IV and be sure to read the other three instalments if you haven’t already.
