It Begins... Suffering with Suffel

Suffering with Suffel

Why start Suffering with Suffel? Wow that question works on multiple levels. I started it because I need a way to let people know what’s coming next. But I also need a place to talk about what’s down the road, to help keep me on track.

First thing first, have you bought my current comics yet?

Go here, do the thing: https://www.comix.one/stores/whatchareading-press-8687a310d02b

That link is to the comix.one platform where you can purchase digital copies of both Renfield Pest Control and/or Sherlock Holmes & The Wonderland Conundrum.

Want to own those books in crisp physical paper copies? Reach out, that can be arraigned.

OR!

You could come see me at a convention! I’ll be at a few this year:

  • BICS (Brooklyn Independent Comics Showcase)Saturday & Sunday, April 18 - 19, 2026

  • CradleCon May 16th - 17th 10 -5

  • Forest Hills Comic Con Sunday May 31st 10 - 3,

I’ve applied to both Eternal Con & SPX, we’ll see if those happen.

What’s new?

“New” is a relative term. I’m currently working on three projects, all in different stages. My first novel, a young-adult noir, is in rewrites. My children’s holiday adventure book just came back with notes from my editor (a LOT of notes.) And my historical fiction/western/horror comic is in first draft. This is the best time, and the worst. It is soooo easy to let myself get distracted from doing the work. Sometimes the act of creating, especially when the creation is half-baked and unable to be shown to the world is enough to distract me. Look at all these wonderful words! Look at all this intricate plotting! These rich characters! Yes yes it needs polish. It needs finishing. I’ll get to it, just one more episode of, whatever looks interesting on NETFLIXAPPLEPRIMETV.

Well that’s the real reason for “Suffering with Suffel” I need to remind myself why I write. First because writing makes me feel whole. Second because I love releasing the finished product out into the world.

Time to get back to work.
