Thanks to my keen Covid cautious readers, I have new shows to recommend that aren’t all about Covid, but are made by Covid aware people. (Keep your suggestions coming!) You can enjoy programming about a topic of your interest without being slapped in the face with “now that we’re post pandemic,” “during Covid,” “mysterious” illnesses, “mystery viruses” and so on. And even though most of the programming these creators produce isn’t all about Covid, they do sometimes have good Covid related episodes too.

It saddens me to hear that she has Long Covid. But I’m glad the harm inflected upon her has made her extra passionate about advocating for Covid caution. Bryony has been a favourite YouTuber of mine for a while now, and she has a very empathetic and thoughtful way of interpreting our increasingly fucked up, societally collapsed world.

Coming Out Pod
We live in a society that’s so heteronormative and cisnormative. Meanwhile, it’s actually quite common to find yourself somewhere along the LGBTQ continuum, sometimes in more than one way! I personally don’t have experience with coming out as gay or trans. But if it’s anything like what I went through coming out as autistic, it’s probably an emotional minefield.
You hope to find compassion and understanding with the people you care about. And if they do love you for who you really are, it’s the best feeling in the world.

I’m really into Marxist/Communist/Socialist/Anarchist theory, and it’s a bloody shame how many supposed anticapitalists have totally bought into capitalism driven Covid minimization and ableism.
Not Socialism For All! This show cares about understanding all the evils. I really appreciate this recommendation, and there have been really great videos recently about the Palestinian genocide, ableist discourse on “the left” (“you must be buff to fight capitalism!”), the evils of the US Democrat/GOP duopoly, and the ways more and more working class people are being denied housing, food, and diginity.
This particular video rightfully blasts Covid minimiaztion:

I started a Change.org petition about Status Coup, because the way they continue to completely ignore Covid is contrary to their stated values of doing investigative journalism on horrible incidents and injustices that the media won’t cover.
