May, Stay-At-Home Meditation Sessions
Aloha!
My name is David Johnson. You are receiving this email because you signed up at my website, Crossing The Threshold, to receive this newsletter.
I am writing to you at an extraordinary time in World history with the COVID-19 virus pandemic upon us. Many of us are on lockdown, self-isolating at home. Here on Maui we are entering our second month for the stay-at-home order.
As a tool for our constrained movements, I have been offering meditation sessions through April and am planning on a slightly modified offering through May. All details are below. I hope that you can join me.
April Meditations
Though the introvert in me is very comfortable with the staying put, I can still go through ups and downs. Sharing my life with others who perhaps struggle more with the order also produces its own challenges.
In order to help with these struggles, through April I offered daily meditation sessions. I see the mind as the precursor cursor to our emotional responses and meditation gives me a tool to work with my mind. All the meditation sessions were streamed live at 1:00pm Hawaii time and then archived on my YouTube page. They are still available on YouTube and I do not plan on taking them down.
The meditations were well received, and I started wondering what I might do through May with the continued stay-at-home order?
May Meditations
I have decided to offer a twice weekly, Monday and Thursday, live meditation through May, also at 1:00pm Hawaii time (I go online 5 minutes before). They will be streamed from my YouTube page, and also archived there to be watched in your own time.
In between the sessions I will offer daily nudges on an aspect of meditation. These will be short blog entries on my Micro.blog site to offer guidance and support in your meditation practice. To see the entries head over to and bookmark this page.
Logistics
No meditation experience is required to attend these sessions. They last for approximately 30 minutes with a meditation time of 13 minutes, probably increasing slowly through May to 15 minutes. You do not have to sit for the full 13 minutes. If that is too long, break the session up into shorter sits, or just sit for a part of the time.
You can be at home, in your office, in your pajamas, in a suit. My only suggestion (if possible) is to find a quiet place to sit comfortably. Also I request that you not be driving.
See you there
Please pass this information onto anyone else who you think might be interested.
I looking forward to seeing you there.
Stay safe and well.
David.
