Friends of Common Shares,

October is only half over and Common Shares team members have already gathered with the VA Solidarity Economy Network, at the US Co-ops IMPACT Conference in Washington DC, and at the ACE Institute hosted by the Industrial Commons and Poder Emma Community Ownership! Thank you so much to the organizers, activists, cooperators, and visionaries who have shared their wisdom and inspired us over the past few weeks.

Now, we are stopping by to share some upcoming learning opportunities coming up with Common Shares. First, we will have a virtual Free Co-op Legal Cafe with Sam Gray Law PC. on October 22 from 9-10:30am. For those of you far from Richmond, or unable to get away from work, this ones for you! These are first-come, first-serve opportunities to ask your co-op legal questions and network with other cooperatives. These sessions are hosted "fishbowl" style, meaning, everyone will have the chance to listen in and benefit from the knowledge being shared.

Shortly after, we are excited to announce a virtual training on Co-op Capitalization that will be offered in partnership with Ben Sandel of Columinate and Sam Gray. We will offer two sessions of this training on November 4 from 6-8pm and January 13 from 10:30-12:30pm. Plenty of time for connecting with other co-ops will be included so you walk away with new resources and new relationships.
