It's Big Projects November!

Days keep ticking, the calendar has flipped to November, and the first snow fell upon Quebec City (don’t worry, it didn’t stay on the ground). It’s hard to believe there’s so little of the year left already, especially when there’s so much to be done! This month is full of big projects, but they’re all just mine. :D

The first big thing is a big bundle! Baker Thief is one of 32 works across several genres, all with trans and/or non-binary characters. Some favourites include Secondhand Origins, The Thread That Binds, A Memory of Blood and Magic, but I also have Non-Player Character really high on my TBR, and have heard great things about several of these works.

This first third of the month has been devoted to a new, secret project that I can’t fully detail (yet!). But. What I will tell you is that I have written ~14,000 words of an interactive game outline. It’s big! It will be fantasy, it will be queer, and it will be epic. Very exciting, very challenging, too. I do enjoy stretching my writer muscles in new directions. :)

The annual Ink Ink Awards nomination periods is back! I have, generally, been a great fan of these awards dedicated to small press and self-publishing authors, and I know they’ve revised their judging process this year. I think the results are going to be great, and I’m really looking forward to the finalists and winners (in September 2026 lol).
But for now! Nominations! I heartily encourage everyone to look at the indies you’ve read this year and nominate them for their strength. Post about it. Give them love! This is a how-to I did for social media:

For my part, I… published four eligible work (Painted Flock, Stories from the Deep, Motes of Inspiration, and Ruined History). So I figured I’d narrow the focus a bit. And again, for efficiency’s sake, some images with my main goals/hopes.

And finally, without a doubt the biggest of them all: my good friend Sienna Tristen, a being of unending beautiful creativity and talent, is working on a fully orchestrated audiobook for their gorgeous fantasy duology.
The Heretic’s Guide to Homecoming is one of the most striking book I have ever been gifted to read. It’s a masterwork in character and worldbuilding, a lush travelogue, a delightfully complex QPR before an extremely anxious, ever-curious scholar and a deeply magical being, and a story that continues to live with me all the time.
And I’ve heard some of Brendan May’s music for this in person (piano only). I have heard Sienna read to it. This is going to be a truly one-of-a-kind experience.
All this to say. Go check it out! Go back! Spread the word! They have a sample for you to try, too.
