A Trio of Big News!

On the menu: a big sale, a cover reveal, and a new book!

There is so much happening right now, we’re going to need more than one email. So expect me in your inboxes a lot this early April! But today, we focus on the ongoing Narratess Indie Sale, and my beautiful cover for Ruined History!!

Narratess Indie Sale

This weekend is the Narratess Indie Sale! This means there are 270+ indie SFF books on sale at $1.99 or less!

My own book this year is Baker Thief, and this is basically a last chance to grab it at $0.99 before Painted Flock's release this summer.

Yes, you read that right. Painted Flock, the Baker Thief sequel, is releasing in but a few months! Scroll down for more on that!

I also put together a small spread of recommendations from books I’ve read or authors I trust, if you don’t know where to start your browsing.

And lastly, but certainly not least, this year I organized itchio bundles for the sale! There are four of them, but mine is here (and the others are linked in it).

Ruined History Cover Reveal

In just four days now, Motes of Inspiration will be released! Which means revealing the cover and blurb of the next book in the Chronicles of Nerezia, Ruined History!

Cover for Ruined History with the title in bold letters at the top. The cover is in tones of deep pink and purples and shows ruins in a story landscape. Crouching at the front is a black person surrounded by three golden motes of light. Hidden through the ruins are red-cloaked people with white theatre masks. A metallic wagon rolls down the path.

Pay attention to the ruins, there are some mysterious figures hiding throughout (you can find 3!). Ruined History is in many ways Aliyah’s novella, and I’m excited to have them at the front here. :D

Fate and friendship brought Horace, Rumi, Keza, and Aliyah together in Rumi’s sentient self-propelling wagon. They seek the forest haunting Aliyah’s dream, hoping for answers about the elf’s past and unique abilities—but first, they need to traverse a world haunted by Fragments, dangerous shards that can possess travellers and react to Aliyah’s presence.

Aliyah is still reeling from revelations about themselves when the rest of their group, Wagon included, is captured by the Archivists. To rescue them, they must infiltrate the mysterious organization’s base—a place half ruined city, half magical wonder. A labyrinth to navigate, it forces Aliyah to seek the help of two unlikely allies: Fragment motes from past citizens.

To confront the Archivists is to uncover more of the inextricable truths between Aliyah and the Fragments—and with each, the fractures in the Wagon crew’s cohesion and Aliyah’s determination widen. Before they can travel onward, they must find the strength to bear the weight of their ruined history.

And finally, because it’s not a Nerezia cover reveal without the delicious continuous spread of the covers…

A spread of six cover images that form one continuous canvas. The scenery goes from a red-sand desert (Awakenings) to a lush river valley (Flooded Secret), to a sea-side city (The Sea Spirit Festival), to a whirlpool in the water surrounded by a golden kraken (Stories from the Deep), to a beautifully carved stone corridor with etchings on the wall (Motes of Inspiration), and finally to ruins of stone bathed in deep pink moonlight (Ruined History).

Ruined History comes out September 9, and you can preorder your copy now!

Painted Flock Preorders!

This newsletter is plenty long already, so I’ll keep this short. Painted Flock is coming this late June, and you can already preorder it on itchio!

Follow along Clémence, Emmanuelle, and Livia as they try to sort through their tangled pasts and messy trauma to safely return the trapped exocore witches into new bodies and explore what it means to be accountable to your community.

It will be available through other retailers later, but the discount is itchio only! Plus there is a little target bar there you can help fill up. ;)

A banner with "queer fantasy centering platonic relationships" at the top. On it are the covers for many of Claudie's books, namely: City of Strife, City of Betrayal, City of Deceit, City of Exile, Common Bonds, Common Bonds 2, Baker Thief, Snowstorm & Overgrowth, Awakenings, Flooded Secrets, The Sea Spirit Festival, Stories from the Deep, Motes of Inspiration, Ruinened History
