It’s another glorious day where we add a brand new cover to the grand Nerezia canvas! This one has been a long time coming, as the novella is coming out this May 9!

We’re going to start with the blurb this time! Our crew has finally arrived, which means the start is actually different from like over half the series.

Fate and friendship brought the Wagon Crew together in Rumi's sentient, self-propelling wagon. Their travels across a world haunted by Fragments, dangerous shards that can possess travellers, has unravelled part of the mystery behind Aliyah's past, her strange abilities, and the Fragments themselves.

At last, they have reached the forest of Aliyah's dreams, in which they hope to find the rest of their answers. Hiding within the green foliage are the forest's magical dwelllers, small spirits with bodies of mulch, faces of bark, and eyes that shine the colour of Aliyah's magic. Their curiosity and wonder are only rivalled by Horace's, and soon the Wagon Crew is hard at work trying to communicate with them and understand their place in the puzzle.

The idyllic cultural exchange is interrupted by an assault from Archivists. They know Aliyah has reached the end of their Journey, and they intend to shape the story to their liking. The faintest hint of their presence sends the forest sprites scurrying with fear. If the Wagon Crew wants to unearth the answers they've travelled for, they will first need to confront the dangerous organization in a final stand.

Does this smell like we’re closing in on a climax? Because we sure are! Anyway, I made you wait long enough for the cover (not that you can’t scroll down.. XD)

BIG COLOURSCAPE CHANGE! Been enough of blues and purples for now. ;) The full wraparound has a friend on the back, but I’ve only shown that to Patreon. I love all the forest critters on it! They’re such a big part of what makes this novella unique.

Preorders are up for Tangled Past, though only for ebooks. Because I’m much later on my schedule for this, I don’t have the paperbacks ready. Some of the big retailers are missing even for ebooks. They will come! But unfortunately for all of us Nerezia lovers, paid work had to come first. I’ll make sure to link again when things have filled out more.
