SolarStar Letter - Spring 2026

🌠 A letter from the stars, straight into your inbox! 🌠

It's... (still) spring!!!! Even though we're just seconds away from summer, I still wanted to get this newsletter post out before that time came! Heads up that this is gonna be another short one.

STORY/PROJECT NEWS!

Star Quest's hiatus continues... So, I had initially planned for the hiatus to end around this time in the year, but unfortunately that won't be happening. I feel bad about it taking so long, but 'tis the life of trying to balance a dayjob and a webcomic.

Anyway with how fuzzy the end of the current chapter was going along with the next few chapters, I felt that I needed to take more time to flesh out the story I was trying to tell so that's where I'm out in terms of the comic!

Right now I've finished all of chapter 3's script along with chapter 4-1. I'm currently working on 4-2 and chapter 5 too! After finishing chapter 5 I'll be halfway through writing the story- at that point I'm planning to jump back into thumbnails. I'm also tackling some concept art that'll be up on my Ko-Fi pretty soon, too.

As a treat, here's some concept art I did for a location in a future chapter. It's been a couple months since I last did concept art so it was refreshing to stretch my ideas a bit!!

So when will Star Quest come back? I'm not entirely sure. I don't wanna say a date until I'm absolutely sure so... it's up in the air! I would like to fill up the empty space with illustrations and species guides- but again that's up in the air. I'm only one person after all!

We shall see~

SITE NEWS!?

In terms of site news, I went and updated the homepage a bit! The guestbook has its own link on the sidebar and I rearranged the the bottom half of the page by adding a box for what I'm doing currently, a new link to the Cinnaverse, and a TamaNOTchi, which was on my previous layout, but forgot to add it in when I updated.

I reorganized the blog archive page, so now there's links going all the way back to when I started fleshing the site out along with my archived posts from Wordpress~

Speaking blogs I've been blogging when I can. I updated an older blog post about me working my way through printing out my worldbuilding docs and I recently put up a new blog post where I answer a ton of questions about Star Quest by the Spiderforest community! More to come there! At the moment I have a handful of drafts stashed away so I'd like to spend a moment during the summer tackling those.

I also started shaking up the gallery a bit. I started...giving each art piece its own dedicated page on the site. This is a coding nightmare but I kinda like that it plays nicer with RSS feed readers now.

And lastly I've finished adding thumbnails to all of the art that is currently on the new art archive. I'm really glad it's done lol. Right now I'm taking a break from it, then I plan to organize it all by date! Then hopefully I can upload the changes and get to filling out the galleries more.

ART RECAP!!

Here's some art that was posted between now and last newsletter!

SHOP NEWS!!

The shop is dead.

Okay just kidding, not really. It's definitely been quiet since I last updated. I got caught up in other things and haven't focused on it at all. I'm still planning some sticker ideas and my zine ideas are still brewing on the backburner, so it's not dead completely!

LIFE THINGS!

Life is life! I wanna go more into depth about this, but in May we took a trip overseas to visit the Bahamas. I had an awesome time visiting another country and it makes me wanna travel overseas more when the funds are stable!

I also revived a childhood camera we used a ton around the late 90s to early 2010s. I have yet to develop the photos and scan them in, but trust there'll be a blog post talking all about it plus my trip overseas!

Been reading, been gaming, been hanging out with friends when I can. Not much overall! :9

And that's that, as always, thanks for reading!
