Aquarius Jones: Public Pool Private Eye + C2E2
Hi! Been a while. You look nice. Is that a new haircut? No it’s good, don’t listen to them.
Two announcements!
1. New comic out from me and Darren Vogt, called Aquarius Jones: Public Pool Private Eye. This one was made as part of my guest appearance on Darren’s Comics on the Spot podcast, where we were given a random sentence and then had to make a comic based on it, so it's short and sweet dumb fun.
The world's foremost pool detective is on the case when heads start floating to the surface of the new town pool.
You can read it for free or kick us a donation here: https://chrishutton.itch.io/aquarius-jones-public-pool-private-eye

Second announcement is that I’m going to be tabling at a convention as a comics pro, for the first time ever! My friend and dummy talented artist Raisa Garcia, aka KikoPaints, will have a table together at C2E2 in Chicago as Brightbounce Studio, our powers combined as writer and illustrator/fan art creator/merch maker. One of us is bringing more to said table than the other.
Raisa is also interested in making comics, so we’re gonna be working together on something real soon. You can check out Raisa’s work, and get as excited about that as I am, here: https://kikopaintsportfolio.carrd.co/
Look at this shit! And look at that shit! But speaking of what we’re bringing to the table, I’ll have copies of three of my books for sale there: a second printing of last year’s True Apocalypse with Matthias Lissak, and two first-run print editions, a zine format of I’m Straight by me and Nicky Rodriguez, and a manga release of Matthias and I’s Battle of the Ages. Battle of the Ages came out before I had this newsletter, so the story’s about a “bad kid” middle schooler meeting a nursing home resident and the two of them getting locked in their mutual drive for competition.
I’m really excited to have more of my work in print and to have my first professional con experience, feels like the next step on my slow climb of Comics Mountain. If I have any physical books left over from the con I’ll give you newsletter folks first dibs on buying any you might want! But let’s both root for me selling out of everything and getting rich, shall we?
Thanks for reading! Look out for your neighbors out there, because as the man Biff Wiff said, everything has sucked lately.
From Davenport with love,
Chris
