Special Whovian Holiday Events 2024 - 2025
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! Whether you’re planning on heading to Chicago TARDIS or enjoy an extended weekend, Chicago Doctor Who Meetup has plenty to keep you in the Whovian Spirit!
Our paid Patreon sponsors get to select episodes for viewing, and we’re proud to highlight the first of our Patreon-sponsored events! Join us on Sunday, December 8th at 7:00 pm CST for our virtual screening of The Husbands of River Song. If enough people attend, who knows? We may make this a yearly event! Although we’re unable to hold a same day screening of the 2025 Christmas Special Joy to the World, that doesn’t mean we’re not planning to ignore it, either. Join us for a mid-holiday virtual celebration on Saturday, December 28th at 2:00 pm CST. We know the holidays can be tough, so we encourage you to RSVP via Facebook or Meetup.
Why yes, we’re also planning to hold events in January 2025! Our second Patreon-sponsored event will be a Big Finish Listening Party! There’s been much talk about the animated reconstruction of the First Doctor/Steven/Dodo story The Celestial Toymaker. If you’re curious about this surreal story (and need to evaluate for yourself whether it’s a “classic”, you can join us on Sunday, January 19th at 7:00 pm CST via Zoom. Finally, we are proud that we will be participating in virtual programming for CONSole Room. (They’re like Chicago TARDIS, only in Minneapolis). Not only will we participate in various virtual panels (meaning you don’t have to leave home), but we’re also running a live commentary on a classic Who episode via Discord! Details will be announced closer to the event, but you can RSVP for either their free or paid virtual ticket via Eventbrite!
