Chicago Whovians United Newsletter - March/April 2025

Although it looks like winter may hang around for some time...we’re planning some great virtual options for March and April. We’re still waiting to hear about our C2E2 panel (short form - we’ve been waitlisted and will learn definitively in mid-March), but we’re not letting that stop us.
For example, we’re screening the Fourth Doctor/Key To Time story The Androids of Tara on Thursday, February 20th at 7:00 pm via Zoom! You will need to RSVP via Facebook or Meetup for Zoom information (we’ll post it early on Thursday) but you’re welcome to join us!
If you’re a Patreon supporter you will also be part of our March patron-only screening and discussion called The War of The War Games. (And if you join early enough, you can be part of our February patron-only hangout) Plus, you keep us moving forward.
In March, we’ll be reviving our Doctor Who Goes Political series of screenings, and this first one is a stone classic. Whether a meditation on sadness and happiness or a script editor’s effort to take down then-Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, The Happiness Patrol is one of the highlights of the Sylvester McCoy area. Join us on Tuesday, March 11th at 7:00 pm CST via Zoom for an evening of screening and conversation. You can RSVP via Facebook and Meetup.
We will also be holding a TARDIS Talk on one of the more provocative episodes of the first Ncuti Gatwa season. We’ll be screening Dot and Bubble via Zoom - and discussing it - on Sunday, March 23rd at 7:00 pm CST. You can find details - and RSVP - via Meetup and Facebook.
Since rumors abound that new Doctor Who may premiere in April, and given both C2E2 and the Easter Holiday, we will be taking a short break from events until May. (You can get a sneak peak at our May Big Finish listening party via Facebook and Meetup) If new Who does premiere, watch this space for more information. We’ll also announce the day and date of our Cosplay Congregation in the next few weeks. Follow us via Bluesky, our Facebook Group and page, or our newsletter to stay informed!)
Thanks for reading, and hope to see you soon!
