Richmond, Henrico, and Hanover DPU’s will conduct field tests on a water main along Hermitage avenue this morning.
“While there are no anticipated water service impacts to citizens, some residents in and around the North Side, Scott's Addition, Chamberlayne, Richmond Raceway, Highland Park and Mechanicsville areas may experience lower than normal water pressures during the tests, from approximately 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.”
the pulp:
A gun accidentally discharged at a youth soccer game in Henrico on Saturday, via WTVR. The gun belonged to a retired federal law enforcement officer and fired after falling out of a spectator’s bag. No one was injured and no charges have been filed, although the incident is under investigation.
The Amigos Mexican Restaurant located at 1808 Staples Mill Road is closing. Today will be the last day it is open for business.

Victoria Ifatusin from the Richmonder dives into potential major changes in the collective bargaining process with Richmond Public Schools.
While a number of school districts in Virginia have unions, RPS was the first to grant collective bargaining rights.
Ifatusin writes:
The changes were first discussed during individual virtual meetings held on Sept. 18 between Superintendent Jason Kamras, RPS officials and the division’s three unions representing teachers and support staff, bus drivers and custodians – REA, Laborers' International Union of North America Local 804 and Teamsters Local 322.
Bryant and Teamsters’ President Brian Peyton told The Richmonder that the meetings were a “high-level overview” of the changes, but the exact language of the modifications were not initially presented.
