Of the roughly 165k registered voters in the City of Richmond, over 44k have already voted, according to the Richmonder. Of the early voters, 36k voted in person, with about 7k mailing in. The article notes that in Richmond there are roughly 82k female registered voters, while there are only 69k male registered voters. Nationally, 70% of women are registered to vote as compared to 68% of men.
A man was shot and killed outside the Richmond Justice Center yesterday, via the RTD. The shooting occurred in the parking lot outside the jail just after noon.
The Richmond People’s Budget has recently published their monthly newsletter highlighting the idea collection process through community engagement. Proposals on how to spend the $3 million allocated for participatory budgeting are currently being developed, with voting occurring in April and projects expected to be funded in Summer 2025.
South Richmond News has found a tiny early electric vehicle for sale locally. The 1980 Comuta Car is listed under $2k, but the battery needs replacing.
