The Diamond opened in 1985 and has been the host of the Richmond Braves, the Flying Squirrels and the VCU baseball team.

In addition to the announcement by Google to build a data center at 2700 Bermuda Hundred Road in Chesterfield, the tech giant has future plans to develop two more data centers in the county, with specific details still unknown, via Bizsense.
Main Street Station will bring back its free outdoor concert series this September, with concerts every Thursday from 5:30 - 8:00 pm.

Graham Moomaw from the Richmonder dives into Mayor Avula’s Administration’s decision to overhaul the process by which the city grants funds to nonprofits.
An audit last year found that $1.45 million was given to non-profits that didn’t meet the city’s own criteria.
Moomaw writes:
Under the old system, city staffers reviewed and scored applications from nonprofits and made recommendations on which groups should get money. But the mayor’s office and the City Council made the final calls on which groups received funding through the budget.
Critics of that system felt it raised questions about fairness, and whether some groups were getting money based more on political connections than the quality of the services and programs they provide.
