Mike Platania from Bizsense dives into plans for the future of the Intermediate Terminal Building in Rocketts Landing adjacent to the Capital Trail.
A number of proposals have been submitted to Richmond’s Economic Development Authority (EDA).
The building was most recently assessed at $2.1 million and the EDA is looking to eventually sell the building and 1.5 acres of land it sits on.
Platania writes:
Though it’s not historically protected, the ITB dates back about 100 years and in its time has been used to store such things as sugar, voting machines and newsprint. The EDA hosted a tour of the building in July, at which developers, architects, engineers and others got to take a closer look.
It’s unclear when the EDA is planning to announce a winning submission, but the authority has previously said it hopes to have a deal in place by the end of 2025.
