the juice:
Henrico County is asking for public feedback regarding the proposed 3.2 mile New Market Heights Trail that will connect to the Capital Trail at Four Mile Creek Park (big bike!), via the Citizen.
Not only will the trail promote alternative mobility and preserve natural land, it highlights an area of historical significance.
Henrico County Supervisor Tyrone Nelson said:
“The trail follows the path of the United States Colored Troops as they advanced to attack the Confederate troops on September 29, 1864. On that day, 14 Black soldiers earned the Medal of Honor, the highest military decoration presented by the United States to a member of its armed forces. The trail will help us remember the bravery and valor and the carriage of these soldiers. It will connect areas of natural and historical significance.
Take the survey here. It takes less than two minutes.
the pulp:
The city has put up “No Loitering” signs on the Lee bridge at the request of the Richmond Police Department after crowds have gathered to watch performances at the new Allianz Ampitheater, via the Richmonder.
