The second cycle of Richmond Public Works Neighborhood Clean Up program has started.
The city provides the free service twice a year on Saturday mornings.
Find your zone and schedule here.
Furniture, mattresses, appliances, tires, and brush (cut-up and bundled) will be collected.
Henrico County has a similar program that was paused after the pandemic but was set to resume in Spring 2024. I wasn’t able to find the map/schedule for the county’s program.

Four shootings occurred in Richmond over the weekend resulting in one homicide. The shooting death occurred on German School Road on Richmond’s Southside, from channel 6.
Reddit users are reminding citizens free reflective vests for cyclists and pedestrians are available at a variety of Henrico locations. Apparently the Fairfield and Sandstone libraries have been restocked. Yay!

RPD’s Columnist Michael Paul Williams dives into Richmond’s lack of transparency and ethics with the recent resignation of city spokesperson Petula Barns and the suspension of credit cards of three other city employees.
Williams questions if 336 city employees having their own purchasing cards is too many.
He continues:
It’s a beautiful picture, if you ignore the ugly food tax bills, Richmond’s appalling wealth divide and the dysfunction that continues to plague City Hall. As city residents prepare to pick their fourth mayor under this current form of government, City Hall still can’t quite shake former Gov. L.
