The world’s first grid-scale commercial fusion power plant is coming to Chesterfield County.
A Massachusetts-based fusion energy company, Commonwealth Fusion Systems, will build the $3 billion capital project at the James River Industrial Center.
The facility is expected to be in operation in the early 2030’s, producing 400 MW of power, enough to power about 150k homes.

The first police precinct building in Church Hill and 40 acres of vacant land next to Whitcomb court are slated for disposition, according to Jonathan Spiers at Bizsense:
City administrators are recommending a real estate disposition plan that calls for unloading 28 surplus parcels totaling about 55 acres to housing nonprofits and private developers, with a goal of adding to the city’s tax base and increasing its supply of lower-income housing.
City Council is debating cutting back the number of honorary street signs given out, with the quantity of $700 signs being approved increasing in recent years, from the Richmonder.
