Today is the first day of early voting for the upcoming November 5 Elections.
All Virginians will have the opportunity to vote for the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General.
Additionally, all 100 seats of the Virginia House of Delegates are up for election. Below is a map of districts in the Greater Richmond Area.

Those residing in the City of Richmond will also elect the Commonwealth’s Attorney, Sheriff, and City Treasurer, but all three candidates are running unopposed.

Here are some key dates to know:
Sept. 19 - First day to vote early at your local voter registration office or satellite voting location. Find your local office: elections.virginia.gov/VRO
Oct. 24 - Last day to register or update your address to vote a regular ballot for this election.
Voters may register in person after this date, through Election Day, and vote using a provisional ballot
Oct. 24 (by 5 p.m.) - Last day to request that a ballot be mailed to you
Oct. 25 (Saturday) - Local voter registration offices open for in-person voting
Nov. 1 (Saturday) - Last day to vote early in-person at your local voter registration office
Nov. 4 (Election Day) - Vote at your polling place. Polls are open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority board rejected a request by Public Housing CEO Steven Nesmith to move forward with getting federal approval for the project to redevelop Gilpin Court, according to the Richmonder.
Chesterfield County has approved an overhaul of its zoning code after a six years-long community process, via WTVR. The new zoning modifications replace regulations in place since the 1980’s. Chesterfield had a population of about 140k in 1980, compared to roughly 390k today.
The Iron Blossom Festival takes place this weekend at Midtown Green (formerly the Washington Commanders Training Camp facility and Bon Secours Training Center). Bands Vampire Weekend and the Lumineers are headlining the two-day festival.
The St. Benedict Oktoberfest begins today at 4:00 pm in the Museum District at the intersection of Hanover and Belmont. The three-day event will feature music and dancing, German cuisine, and of course, giant mugs of German beer.
