The new Marco’s Pizza on Arthur Ashe Boulevard has unveiled a mural by local artist and muralist Jason Ford. Here’s a shot of Ford working on the mural back in June, from his IG.
The woman struck in a hit-and-run Friday has died, and her child is in the hospital fighting for her life, from 12 on your side. The incident occurred early Friday morning on the 5700 block of Nine Mile Road. According to Henrico Police officer Lt. Daniel Turner “It appears they were walking along the white line, right on the edge of the roadway. To our knowledge, she did everything correctly.”

There is no specific cultivar or variety of the Hanover Tomato; any tomato grown in Hanover County can be labeled as such, according to Ed Wall, a master gardener who grows 14 different varieties in his backyard.

Once a tomato supplier for Ukrop’s before its closure, Hanover Vegetable Farm now sells tomatoes to companies like Kroger and out of its own market off Ashland Road. To keep afloat in a challenging market dominated by big agribusiness, it’s expanded into the event space, hosting popular festivals, concerts, weddings, haunted houses and pumpkin picking, as well as selling other produce, mulch and more.
