While Richmond International Airport has yet to see any significant disruptions to air traffic due to the Federal Government shutdown, that could change in the next few days, according to WTVR.
The FAA announced it will reduce air traffic by 10% across 40 high volume markets, many of which connect to RIC.
The specific airports affected will be announced today, which could affect scheduling at RIC as early as Friday.
the pulp:
Chesterfield County Public School staff may have kept 31k for personal use through unapproved fundraisers, according to an audit report, via WRIC. Fifteen of the fundraisers were conducted on GoFundMe, an unapproved site. Additionally, auditors could not determine if unapproved fundraising that did not reach their goals returned the money to the donors as required by school board policy.
An independent fundraiser for a playground at Chimbarazo Elementary School is just shy of reaching half of its $250k goal to build a new playground for students in grades 3-5.
The Richmond Public Library book sale will be open this Friday from 12:00 - 6:00 pm, on Saturday from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, and Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, via RVAHub.

Elise Steele from RICtoday provides an update on the city’s harm reduction vending machines, which were first installed at two locations in July, with a third machine installed in in the East End in October.

Steele writes:
Between July 11 and Sept. 30, the first two machines (not including the East End installation) dispensed 704 free items. That number includes:
184 hand wipes
180 naloxone
171 first aid + hygiene kits
110 fentanyl test strips
59 menstrual supply items
