A Top RPS High School and Quadruple AAA

The great weather continues today with sunshine and a high of 79, with a low of 57.

Henrico and Chesterfield County officials celebrated their achievement of a quadruple AAA bond rating on Tuesday, meaning they have demonstrated the highest level of credit worthiness by the three major ratings agencies.

The City of Richmond achieved a rating of AAA in May of 2024 from ratings agency Fitch.

  • Richmond’s Open High School ranked #62 in the nation by US News’ 2025-2026 rankings, via Scott at OregonHill.net

  • The City of Richmond is considering selling two properties on Southside for a $70 million housing development that could potentially have 300 apartments, via the Richmonder. City Council has declared the properties off Belmont road as surplus, and the development could provide “multifamily affordable housing.”

  • The Metro Zoo has announced the birth of six new cheetah cubs, via WTVR. The cubs spent their first few months at the zoo’s Cheetah Conservation Center, and have moved to the public cheetah habitat.

  • The T. Pot pedestrian bridge is closed at night from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am this week for scheduled repairs, via RVAHub.
