VCU’s Board of Visitors has voted to formally approve the first phase of the $38 million Athletic Village set to be constructed off Hermitage Rd near the Diamond, from Bizsense.
A 1500-seat stadium and field are planned to replace the neighboring Sports Backers Stadium, with construction set to begin in January.

The Henrico Citizen has recently reported on the county’s approach to pedestrian safety, with more than 60 active projects (including studies) funded at a cost of $220 million. View the projects here.
50 pounds of marijuana, multiple firearms, and $25k in cash were seized by Richmond Police at 1409 Hull St last Friday, at a so-called “pop-up” business, from Ryan Nadeau at WRIC. Two days prior, 22 pounds of marijuana were seized at a Richmond smoke shop called “Smoke City”.
