OCTOBER 24 CITY COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

- The council heard a presentation about the Westside Evolves project, explaining the rehousing strategy, the number of units to be constructed, the funding sources being targeted, and more. - The council voted on a number of rezoning cases.
- The council voted on changes to the Police Advisory Review Committee ordinance to bring the committee into compliance with new state law (final reading). The motion did not receive enough votes to pass, it will be heard again on October 31.
- The council confirmed the appointment of Melody Shekari to the Industrial Development Board.
- The council confirmed the appointment of Gina Reviere to the Community Advisory Committee.
- The council approved a number of economic development and public works agreements.
- The council approved 4 routine purchases, including a $900k cellular contract with Verizon Wireless.

OCTOBER 31 CITY COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

- The council will vote on changes to the Police Advisory Review Committee ordinance to bring the committee into compliance with new state law (final reading).
- The council will vote on the creation of a new zone for the Westside Evolves project (first reading).
- The council will vote on the donation of property to the Chattanooga Housing Authority for the completion of the Westside Evolves plan.
- The council will vote on support of a Choice Neighborhoods Implementation (CNI) Grant application for $50M for the completion of the Westside Evolves plan.
- The council will vote on approval of the Economic Impact Plan for the The Bend Development Project. This Impact Plan is a required step in the creation of the One Westside TIF.
- The council will vote on the application for a $2M grant for a U.S. Department of Transportation under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) Grant Program.
- The council will vote on the elimination of the “Park Ranger” position, a currently unused employee designation.
- The council will vote on a number of other lease agreements, grants, donation agreements, rental fee waivers, purchases, and other agreements (see agenda for details).
