SEPTEMBER 20 CITY COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

- On September 20 the city council:
- held a public hearing on a FY2023 budget amendment. You can read the full amendment text here.
- voted on a number of rezoning cases (first reading).
- voted to confirm the appointment of Rosalyn Ruffin to the Head Start Governing Board.
- vote to waive park rental fees for the Three Sister Bluegrass festival and the Tennessee Valley Pride festival.
- voted to authorize the Chattanooga Police Department to apply with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department for a joint grant from the Department of Justice.
- voted to approve 3 routine purchases
- The Parks and Public Works committee discussed a new potential ordinance which would relieve citizens of the responsible of repairing sewer laterals within the city Right Of Way (ROW). Because these repairs impact the public street they can cost tens of thousands of dollars.

SEPTEMBER 27 CITY COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

- On September 27 the city council will:
- vote on a number of rezoning cases (both first and second readings).

- vote to allow the Department of Community Development to apply for a Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant for rapid rehousing and supportive services.
- vote to provide services to 278 children through the Head Start program and various partners, for a total of ~$1.27M.
- vote to provide services to 126 children through the Head Start program and various partners, for a total of ~$1.18M
- vote to authorize a subrecipient agreement with Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise to spend up to $1M for Lyerly Street affordable housing.
OCTOBER 4 CITY COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

- vote to confirm a ~3 acre portion of Moccassin Bend as Surplus property.
