SEPTEMBER 12 CITY COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

- The council will vote on a number of rezoning and planning requests including:
- A request to rezone 1133 and 1137 Old Pineville Road from R-1 to R-3. RPA staff recommended approval, planning commission recommended denial.
- A request to rezone 3111 Kelly’s Ferry Road from R-1 to R-3/C-2. RPA staff recommended denial, planning commission recommended approval.
- A request to rezone 7283 Bonny Oaks Drive from R-4 to R-1/C-2. RPA staff recommended denial, planning commission recommended approval.
- A request to rezone a property on the 2800 block of Dodds Avenue from M-1 to UGC. RPA staff recommended denial, planning commission recommended approval.
- A request to rezone 1115 and 1117 East 4th street from R-3/R-T/Z to UGC. RPA staff and planning commission recommended denial.
- A request to rezone 1710 South Holtzclaw Avenue from R-2 to C-2. RPA staff and planning commission recommended denial.
- A request to rezone 510 South Willow Street from R-4 to C-2. RPA staff recommended denial, planning commission recommended approval.
- The council will vote on the authorization of a voluntary brownfield agreement for 159 Hamm Road.
- The council will vote on the authorization of two $40k grants to Habitat for Humanity to construct a house at 223 and 231 Canary Circle for affordable homeownership.
- The council will vote on the authorization of an agreement with the state of Tennessee for a 10 year renewable lease at 1931 Reggie White Boulevard.
- The council will vote on the authorization of an interlocal agreement with Hamilton County to establish and operate a housing navigation source.
- The council will vote on amendments to the Employee Information Guide.
- The council will vote on the authorization of a Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods Program Planning Grant application to be made to the US DOT to help fund transportation projects in the Westside Evolves Plan. The grant will be up to $2M, with a maximum city match of $500k
- The council will vote on the authorization of two police grants.
- The council will vote on a number of Public Works and Wastewater Contracts.
