November 28 City Council Highlights

NOVEMBER 14 CITY COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

  • The council heard the Library Quarterly Report.
  • The council heard a presentation on the Health Services Contract for city employees.

The Business Session recording can be found here.

  • The council approved an amendment to the process of declaring surplus city real estate (first reading).
  • The council voted on a number of zoning cases, including:
    • Deferring a request to rezone 1133 and 1137 Old Pineville Road from R-1 to R-3 until December 12. RPA staff recommended approval. Planning Commission recommended denial.
    • Approving a request to rezone 6010 Dayton Boulevard from R-1 to R-4. RPA staff recommended denial. Planning Commission recommended approval.
  • The council voted on a number of right of way closures, contract agreements, and other agreements. See the minutes for full details.
  • The council approved 1 routine purchase, a $40.8M contract for four years of on-site pharmacy services from On-site Rx Inc.
  • The council heard a Debt Obligation report regarding a $20M, 2.6%, 20 year loan from the Tennessee Revolving Loan Fund to pay for wastewater wet weather storage.

NOVEMBER 28 CITY COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

  • The council will hold a public hearing regarding the proposed deannexation of 7900 Holly Hills Drive.
  • The council will vote on an amendment to the process of declaring surplus city real estate (final reading).
  • The council will vote on a number of zoning cases (final reading). See the agenda for full details.
  • The council will vote on updates to city code regarding the Commercial Property Assessed Clean-Energy and Resiliency (C-PACER) program (first reading).
  • The council will vote on a professional services agreement with Dr. Marcus Mauldin to perform a Social and Economic Equity Study.
  • The council will vote on a $40k grant to Habitat for Humanity for the construction of affordable housing at 421 West 37th Street.
  • The council will vote on the declaration of surplus property at 2904 Taylor Street, 2906 Taylor Street, 2702 Chamberlain Avenue, and 2704 Chamberlain Avenue.
