HIGHLIGHTS
- The City of Chattanooga Department of Parks and Outdoors has launched the Parks & Outdoors Plan to build a vision for the future of city parks. You can find out more and take a survey here.
- On June 14 the city council approved the proposed 2023 Fiscal Year Budget (July 2022-June 2023). The budget takes effect on July 1.
- On June 14 the city council approved the final vote to apply the 4% hotel/motel tax to short term vacation rentals.
- On June 14 the city council voted to confirm Tara Viland and Owen Seaton to the Beer and Wrecker Board.
- On June 14 the city council voted to issue a Request For Proposals (RFP) to redesign the city website.

- The Parks and Public Works Committee heard a presentation on the Consent Decree.
- Elizabeth Adkins, Rahsza Saleed, and Kent Dixon all addressed the council to ask that the salaries for employees of the Office of Family Empowerment be raised.
- Marie Mott addressed the council to offer a policy document to address gun violence, as well as ask that city staff meet with grieving mothers.
- Betty Maddox Battle, Jamika Johnson, Satedra Smith, all grieving mothers, addressed the council asking the council address gun violence and community disinvestment.
- Rev. Anthony Chatman addressed the council to ask if there is a conflict of interest in attorneys being hired by the city.
- Monty Bell addressed the council, purpose unclear.
- Audrey Ramsey addressed the council asking for more investment in children.
- Savannah Guffey addressed the council expressing a lack of trust in the council at their ability to solve the problems the city is currently facing.
- Tasha Rose addressed the council to express disappointment in community safety, crime enforcement, and the lack of investment in city community centers.
