Taking a Pause

Hello lovely subscribers —
I am going to be putting the newsletter on hold, probably until the end of the calendar year.
It’s not that I don’t have things to write about, I do! But I’ve gotten to the point with this book in progress where I really need to focus my energies and get it done.
And these essays I’ve been writing here, these are for the next book, and as tempting as it is to cheat on the manuscript I’m working on by jumping ahead to the next one, it’s been way too long, and I want to get this one finished.
For those of you with paying subscriptions (god bless you all) I’ll figure out how to put those on hold.
Cross your fingers for me. The time has come, as Adrienne Rich once wrote, to grip the knife in my teeth and dive down into the wreck. And since I’m distractible at the best of times, I’m going to put my blinkers on, and buckle down to get the task at hand done.
Thank you all for your support! And I’ll be back soon with essays about some new-to-me theorists I’ve been reading who are doing really exciting thinking about the nature of materiality, ways to evade dualistic thinking, and strategies for how we might fruitfully navigate the multiple climate crises that are bearing down on us.
Many thanks for your patience, and for reading in the first place!
Fingers crossed! Slow, steady, you got this.
