September (2026) Monthly Update

Hard to believe but Summer is over, and this was a season of rest I did not anticipate! But it’s over and the rust has settled into the art mind and arm. It’s time to go over this month and my good ness!

Done with Twitch:

In mid-August, Twitch has implemented AI studying features into their services. Regardless if this was at the behest of Amazon the parent company, (sumwhat) opt-out feature; this was the straw that finally broke it for me. Out of all the controversies and problems Twitch had, I stuck it out and kept at it. But this was it and I refused to be abused by these systems similar to how I left Twitter out of all the terrible changes done.

So, the plan is that I’ll no longer be streaming on Twitch for the foreseeable future. I’ll be streaming on Picarto when it comes to art, it’s been such a long time since I used the site but given everything it might be the safe haven. I’ll attempt to do cross-streaming on both Picarto and YouTube when it comes to game streams for better documentation. I think it’ll end up being the best options in the future.

Now it would end there, but it has gotten a little worse… So the folks did decide to switch out the Wifi Router for something different. It’s something better for their home but it had a very… unintended side effect. I’ve been noticing the MBPS has been lower than anticipated and preferred. This is going to require a lot of testing and fixing. There will be a test stream in the future.

FT and Adulting Take-Over:

So, I keep over estimating what needs to be done and changed. As I have been doing a lot at my FT and the Mondays and Fridays I did take off had made it a bit harder to work on art. As well as stuff that involves adulting like…. (looking at list) …grocery shopping. So time management is needing another renovation. God damn this sucks but it’s also necessary, so balancing it is GOD DAMN important. I think I might have a new idea but it’ll take time to properly measure out.

Art Must Come Home:

The good news is that the passion to draw and create has not left, just trying to figure out new ways and tools on Linux is much harder than anticipated. So in the time between tech issues and getting the mojo, I’ve been getting different tools + art books for references and tips, including a new anatomy book since I suck at that and need help.

I would love to jump into ambitious art projects but I can not, it would be like driving in a drag race with a car that’s been parked on a lot for months and the joints getting a little too rusted. For now, I’ll start with some chibi art and get use to CSP or even give Krita a try. I want to say “yes, I’ll get so much art done,” but looking at everything, there’s a good chance that it’ll just be one chibi art piece. A little sad but if I can get one done, that’ll be great.

Let’s start there, and then let the wheels keep turning from there.

Still prepping my first one-shot TTRPG:

Right now I’m still prepping my DnD One-Shot campaign as a way to see if I like to Dungeon Master. The major things stopping me at this point is map making and looking into one has only been stopped by financials and time. I have a general idea of the plot, it’s more about putting it together fully.

It might end up being something in October, or at worst January 2027. But I’ve been so deep into TTRPGs that I don’t want to give it up. When the time comes, I will have more information, time and perhaps open slots.

Conclusion:

At the time of writing this, I just got out of a week-long overtime at work, so I just hit a bit of a mental burnout. But everything here is something I really want to try to accomplish. For those that are still here, thank you and I do hope to return to the art eventually.
